“Strategic Offsites enabled me to take on leadership roles far beyond the opportunities typically offered to employees coming directly from undergrad.”

Engagement Example

A major luxury goods company engaged us to help develop its global digital strategy. Working with a third-party research firm, I managed the development of the customized Best Practice and Trends reports that grounded our strategy development. I co-facilitated several brand workshops to help our cross-functional client teams better understand their organization’s varied customer segments. Our team then led the client through a process to develop a strategy based on targeted online experiences for specific customer segments.

Background

Over 3 years at SOG, Robin developed expertise in strategy development and execution by working with clients in the healthcare non-profit, consumer electronics, document management, and other industries. Her projects included organizational transformation, alliance building and management, performance measurement and reporting, and strategic communications to multiple stakeholders.

Robin left SOG to pursue an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern, and is currently a Director at the Kraft Heinz company.

Why Strategic Offsites?

“I joined Strategic Offsites because I wanted to be in a client-facing role and gain exposure to different industries and strategic issues. Our partners personally coached me and created opportunities to take on leadership roles both within the firm and on client projects. We worked as a team to tackle client issues, and had fun in the process.”

“Few of my peers know what it’s like to sit down with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and talk strategy. This perspective was critical in preparing me for business school.”

Engagement Example

Our client was the new president of a large business unit in a Fortune 100 financial services company. We helped her engage the leadership team to align around five pillars of growth. After this offsite, I helped structure a process to empower 60+ executives across the organization to develop a new strategy around these pillars, and co-facilitated a series of workshops to pursue each opportunity. This process tapped into great ideas and deep subject matter expertise from across the organization, and generated incredible awareness and buy-in for the strategy.
