As Tom Rodenhauser, the former editor of Consultants’ News, noted in his white paper, Advisor-Client Perceptions on Strategy Offsites

We do not use your offsite as a ‘loss leader’ to sell lengthy and expensive consulting projects. Our top interest is our clients’ agendas, not our own.
